My Passion
I remember in high school reflecting on my future career goals and being unsure of what career to pursue. After some reflection, I realized that no matter what I decide to do it need to help others. I reflected on how much I enjoyed being patient and creative while helping others learn. Thus, I chose education and received a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education. I eventually graduated and took a job teaching 9th grade at an alternative school. At this point, I had considered pursuing mental health but was unsure of the process. After having experiences teaching in a special needs behavioral school and with the guidance of therapists and mentors along with way it felt more apparent that becoming a therapist was the next step in my journey.
In 2017 I was grateful to have completed my master’s Degree and became licensed! I completed my counseling internship at the Ohio University Counseling Center, became licensed, and worked as a school-based community mental health therapist. I eventually, became interested in providing services in an outpatient/ private practice setting with my customized services and brand.
Experience is important. Having a Master’s degree, and 7 years of experience taught me a lot as a human and certainly as a therapist. We all need help at times and to truly experience the “gift” of therapy and the therapeutic process I too, sought out therapy from an amazing therapist and his lovely therapy dog. From these experiences, I can truly attest that you will not regret committing to therapy if it is the right time, place, and or, person. I hope I can be that person for you!
Through my many experiences and workplaces I have learned many things about my passions as a therapist…
I am passionate about:
Educating and empowering others to understand themselves and how to a to live peacefully in our society.
Listening with a curious and Socratic approach to processing existential topics and life purpose.
Championing others to find their passions, set boundaries, and work towards their goals.
Seeking those who feel lost and unseen. Helping them to feel heard and valued.
My Goals
At this time I would say my professional goals are to continue growing my practice and learning all I can about helping my clients find healing and peace.
My personal/ wellness goals are to practice more mindfulness, read more books, and move more!!!
